Doctors of MDM Hospital, Jodhpur, took out 63 coins from the stomach of a man with the help of an endoscopic procedure. On Wednesday, he was brought to the hospital with a complaint of severe stomach pain. On examination, doctors found a metallic lump in his stomach. When they learned that the metallic lump was coins, the doctors arranged for the required instruments and initiated the process of extraction of the coins.

In this case, Dr. Narendra Bharghav, HOD, Gastroenterology, stated that the 36-year-old man had ingested 63 coins of Re.1 in a state of depression. He added that the patient came to the hospital with severe stomach pain and told them that he ingested 10–15 coins.

A team of doctors from the Gastroenterology Department, under the supervision of Dr. Bharghav and command of Dr. Sunil Dadhich, took out all the coins after the 2-day-long procedure. Doctor Bharghav added that people with the habit of ingesting some severe things in a state of depression need counseling.
